Second Coming Part 2 Hell on Earth ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Banon's body is zipped into a body bag the cigaret still in his mouth. The firing squad members were congratulating one another. The crowd was silent. Geshtall had a smug look on his face. That is untill a brick hurled from the crowd hit him in the head. The corwd becomes unruly and charges the scafold. Geshtall in his weakened state is unable to escape and is overrun. Kefka watches from the tower. He smiles with satisfaction. He then takes up a megaphone. Kefka: Listen up pions! Since you've taken it on yourselves to out us an emperor I guess That leaves me in charge. Here begins the rule of pain. Soldiers! Soldiers fill the streets awaiting Kefka's command. Kefka: Kill them all! The emperial soldiers swarm in on Kefka's order and begin killing every person within reach. Screams of pain echo through Vector. A gaurd wilding an axe chases the young boy who had pulled up Leo. The boy trips and the gaurd advances raising his axe. A shot rings out as the axe is broken off of it's handle. Across the square stands Leo with shotgun in hand. His Olive drab trenchcoat has been exchanged for black leather. His face is solid white with black streaks below his eyes. His eyes are blood red and filled with hate. A round from the second barrel kills the gaurd. The boy flees the scene. Soldiers converge on Leo but are quicly dispersed by a combination of gunfire and quick sword strokes. Some soldiers try to shoot him but find their bullets inefective. But by the time they can register this they are being dismembered. In a few moments the townspeople have fled and the majority of the soldiers lay dead or dying. Atop a heap of the dead stands Leo glaring coldly at the tower. Kefka: What the Hell happened? (takes the binoculars from the watchman beside him and looks down.) There's no way.......THERE'S NO F*CKING WAY!!! Leo:(thinking)Brother hear my thoughts. This tyrany will end and you will die. The crow's squaks ring to Kefka's ears. Later Jessie: So you stopped the masacre? Leo: Most of it. Many good people died though. You were right about everything. The crow took over. It controlled me. The killing of those marked for death somehow brought me satisfaction. Jessie: That's what the crow does. Untill the one who was responsibel for your death is killed the crow will grow stronger. But be careful. It can go overboard. Leo: There's no such thing when it comes to Kefka. Jessie: Please don't talk that way. I once saw the power of the crow nearly consume someone. What they become can be worse than what they were brought back to destroy. Leo: No I don't think there could be anything worse than Kefka. He's slaughtered countles innocent people. If I have to become some sort of monster in order to destroy him then so be it. Jessie: Let me tell you a story. I didn't believe in miracles. I believed in people and that for everything there was a price. Then I saw the first crow. A human brought back from the dead had to be a miracle. Then I saw what she became in her thirst of vengance. She was no better than the man who killed her. I don't believe in miracles anymore. There is a terrible price to pay for your second chance. Your soul. Leo: Mabey some weak little girl couldn't controll it but I'm a soldier. I know death quite well. I can handle it. Jessie: No, you're wrong. You will be less able to controll it than she was. Aeris had a kind heart. She detested violence and so was able fight off the power of the crow. But you enjoy the death of your enemies. If you continue on that path you won't be able come back. Leo: I don't care. I'm not sure why I was chosen. I guess it was because I'm the guy most likely to beat Kefka. Jessie: The crow gives you all the power you need. A child would have just as much power as you. It's something in your heart. For some reason you just weren't willing to let yourself die no matter what awaited you on the other side. Leo: Enough psychobabble! Everything you say is in a riddle! Can't you just say something right out? Jessie:(Shrugs)Okay. I'll try. To be honest I've just been quoting things I've read. I'm not really a weird person. Well I am but not like that. Leo: Okay so spit it out. Jessie: My experience with the crow is kind of third person. There was once a city called Midgar and in that city lived a girl named Aeris. Everyone knew her as the flower girl. (later) Jessie: After Aeris left I started reading about ancient legends. That's where I got all the stuff I was telling you. Leo: Why didn't you just say so? So to sum it up, I'm connected to someone who can't cross to the other side untill I accompish something here. Jessie: That's what I've come to understand. Leo: But it doesn't make any sense. I don't have anyone. My only familly is....nevermind. Jessie: Who? Please it may be the only way to let their soul rest. Leo: My brother. Kefka. Jessie: That lunatic? I don't see how you two could be related. Leo: Kefka was once a good man. But something happened to him. He changed. But it doesn't matter. He's still alive. Not for long though. Jessie: You want revenge against your own brother? Leo: It's true that he killed me but more importantly are the thousands his orders have killed and the millions more that will die if he's not stopped. I've talked too long already I have to stop Kefka, NOW! Leo begins to leave. Jessie: NO you can't go! Not in your condition. Leo: My condition is dead. I don't think it can get any worse. Leo leaves. After afew minutes Jessie hears a knock at the door. Jessie: (opening door) Ah Leo I'm glad you reconsidered. Huh? You're not Leo. Terra: Emperor Palazo requests an audience with you. Elsewhere. Leo looks at a newspaper in the dispenser. Leo:(reading paper)Emperor Geshtall Killed, General Kefka Palazo promoted to emperor's post. Martial law declared. Leo looks in his pocket for change. After a few moments finding no currency Leo smashes the dispenser with the butt of his gun. Later at a bar. Leo enters and aproaches a soldier wearing a general's uniform. Leo: Are you Vicks? Vicks: yeah that's me. Leo: So is it true that you were promoted to general to fill Kefka's position? Vicks: Yeah. Leo: You must have done something pretty impressive to get that position. Vicks: I won it by Kill count. I was third behind general Leo and Kefka. Leo: Is that so? But I don't think you know what killing is like. Civilians don't count. Vicks: WHat? How dare you! (reaches for his gun) Leo Grabs Vicks and drags him out of the building. Later Vicks is hanging by his ankles from the top of a clock tower. Leo: There are two choices for you. You see when this clock strikes midnight the ropes will break and you'll fall. Or if you do me a favour I might be able to pull you up in time. Vicks: ANYTHING!!! Leo: I knew you didn't have the guts. I want you to tell Kefka that his brother is coming back. And untill he faces me there's going to be Hell on earth. Leo returns to Jessie's apartment. The room appears as though there has been a struggle. Leo: Jessie? JESSIE!!! In the tower. Jessie is tied to a chair. Terra and Celes stand gaurd. Kefka enters the room. Kefka: Vicks just confirmed it. Leo has somehow returned. Now why is it you're with him so much. Jessie: Everyone knows that General Leo is dead. People don't just come back from the dead. Kefka: DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH ME!!! I know my own brother. That was his fighting style. Only he could disperse that many soldiers. Tell me how he came back! Jessie: You're going to die Kefka. Kefka: Fine you want to play games then let's play. I noticed that you have a bit of a limp. It looks painful. (lifts Jessie's skirt to show her leg brace. Then removes the brace) Kefka takes out a club and hits Jessie in the knee. Kefka continues to torture Jessie. Terra looks on. Jessie's cries seem to find a hint of emotion in her. After afew minutes Terra shows more and more emotion. Terra: Emperor Palazo STOP!!! Kefka: What? I didn't say at ease soldier. Terra: You're hurting her! Kefka: That's the idea. Celes: Terra you're acting so strange. Terra: I...I'm sorry sir. Kefka: Now where were we. Jessie: (is unconcious) Kefka: Oh, I hoped she would last longer. Have Cid patch her up; then I'll come back. Outsied Leo Stares at the tower. Kafka returns the stare from a window high up. Neither withing clear view but both knowing the other was there. ----------------------End of part2--------------------------------------------------------------- A soul on the verge of revelation and another on the verge of hell. a captive spirit and another split in half.
