Rouge Force: Part One Finding Ourselves ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` I know the Prolouge wasn't all that great, but, I didn't want to have to completley copy and paste SOD 20. My biggest concern was starting the shifts from the previous canon into what the OVA is. Trust me, if it doesn't start getting better soon, you can come hunt me down and tell me. ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` "Well, this is just great," Shane sighed as he fell back on his bunk aboard Gomisaki, "We are wanted by the Guardians for the highest treason, we're being hunted by the Destroyers so they can get the Sword of Darkness back, our names and faces are known omni-verse wide, and we are so broke my bank account looks the window panes from a town during a DBZ power-up sequence. AM I LEAVING ANYTHING OUT?!" The other three members of the mercenary group Rouge Force looked at him blankly. Ray was the first to speak up, "Yeah, in that entire tiraed you didn't once mention you ate the last of your chocolate." Shane clutched his head and screamed in disgust, "YOU HAD TO BRING THAT UP, DIDN'T YOU?" Meanwhile, Mac cheered up a bit. "Hey guys, I just got word of a fairly large martial arts tournament to be held on an earth alternate. The grand prize is 30 million bucks!" Cracking his knuckles, Frag sneared under his sunglasses. "Sounds like an easy score. One of us goes in, kicks everyone's ass, and we walk away with some big bucks." Ray yawned at that, "True, but, you're forgetting. We are wanted in every dimension by the Guardians. You may can disquise yourself in your human form, but, if you transform it'll send a power signature out through the omni-verse like a supernova. Even if you could supress the energy signature, you'll transform your clothes and appearence to Megalo-Frag instantly." Ray sat up and looked to Mac, "Any ideas analyst?" Merely grinning, Mac pointed to Shane. "He should enter the tournament." Shane was the first to object to this, "As much as I would love to show up everyone on a planet, why me? Ray's point remains, if any one of us has to transform to win we'll be spotted in an instant." Mac waved his objections off, "It's quite elementary my dear McInnis, you have four super-human forms. The rest of us only have one, and the chances are that anyone who will be paying attention will be looking for Megalo-Frag, Level 2 Mac, Ultimate Chosen One, and Mega Fighter." Shane snapped his fingers after a few seconds having gotten Mac's point, "But, they won't be looking for Mega-Pimp, Jester, or Choco." Frag grabbed Shane by the collar and threw him against the wall, "Yeah, but you don't have the best history controlling which form you take you when you transform. If you're in the middle of a fighting tournament chances are you WILL become Mega-Fighter, and thus ruining it for everyone. I will fight, I have the most controll over my power and have the power to kill everyone there if need be to keep my ass from getting thrown back in some DGF jail cell. You and Ray threw me in one before, it won't happen again!" Frag dropped Shane and stormed to the door. Lighting a joint, Frag turned and looked at the others, "And don't any of you try and stop me." After Frag had left, Ray disengaged the Sword of Darkness, "Yeesh, you'd think I'd be the one going on a rampage like that. He's supposed to be carrying the element of life, I'M carrying the element of evil." Mac helped Shane to his feet, "He's always been like that, a loner. He probably doesn't like the whole, 'touchy-feely' group thing. Not to mention, we've only had the Swords for a few months. Since we seemed to have been chosen by them, it probably will take longer for them to change us." Shane brushed himself off and shrugged, "Like it or not, we're in this together. And if he wants some he can bring it." The day of the Tournament had arrived, and the turnout was incredible. Literally millions packed the many seats wanting to see who was going to be declared the most powerful warrior in that dimension. "Okay, Frag, the rules say this is an everything goes tournament, so you should be able to use all of your weaponry. Just don't pull out the BFG or the Ultimate Force and we should be fine." Frag shrugged Mac off, "And don't go super-human, I know, I know. Damnit, Just let me fight, I don't need anything buy my fists and my guns." Ray and Shane shot glances at each other, but were able to conceal it form the others. Frag left to get register and get ready, while the others looked for seating. Mac noticed Ray had this look of great discomfort to him, "Hey, are you alright?" Ray nodded, but kept a grim look on his face. "He is here, I can feel it. What's worse is that he can feel me too. He doesn't work for the Destroyers anymore, but my brother can still blow the whistle on us in no time." Shane relaxed and sipped at his drink, "Well, no use getting worked up over it, if he wants you, Cordran will come after you himself. He's not exactly known for his reliance on others." Ray sighed and consented, "Your right, but, i would rather not be with the group in case he shows up. I'd rather him think I'm here alone than knowing all four of us are here. Anyway, Frag won't fight for another hour at least, so I'm going to walk around some and clear my head." When Ray got out of ear shot, Mac leaned over to Shane and asked, "He's going to find Cordran, isn't he?" Shane nodded and grimaced, this could get real ugly. Frag waited in the holding room for his first match, he was disquised with a goutee and changed the style of his sunglasses. His outfit was just a simple black suit with a black trenchcoat over it. Inside he had a sizable arsenal, his Mecha Armor and bigger guns were stored in sub-space pockets he could open at will. "Well, well, if it isn't the crowned prince of Jurai himself." Frag turned suddenly at the voice and identification, "You, you're supposed to be dead! It can't be, KAGATO!" The scientist laughed and pointed to Frag, "I know you think you killed me, but, you should have reasoned that disentigration can't kill me, an energy based life-form. Haha, don't fret, I won't let anyone know you and your friends are here. My employer is more interested in getting you for himself." Frag's eyebrows came together as his brow creased, "What employer, asshole?" Kagato shook his head, "Now now, I can't go giving away that just yet, he wants to see the four of you fight before he decides if he can use you or not. And you can't attack me in here anyway, you'll get disqualified and I'll blow your little cover." Frag put down the BFG he had pointed at Kagato's eye and sat down, he may have hated the bastard, but Kagato had a point. Ray walked around the grounds. It was a fairly big place, but then again, this was this dimension's first official inter-dimensional event having just been opened up to full Vortex traffic. What a blow-out it was. Having been Head Guardian, Ray had been to many of these events as representative of the Guradian Force. This was the grandest, a no-holds-barred martial arts tournament that allowed any weapons, powers, and fighters to face each other in the ring. To offset the risk was a payoff that topped off in the hundred millions for the first place winner. To make it more fun, the prize was actually based on what the audience thought of the winner, so if you put on a good show, you got a lot more money. Ray rounded a corner and felt a power that stagered him momentarily, "So, there you are." Turning to face him was a man with features almost identical to his own. "Hello, Doss, how are you doing?" Ray sneered, "A whole lot worse than I was a few minutes ago. And why do you still call me by my last name, Cordran? Isn't it the same as yours, dear brother?" Cordran laughed, "Ah, yes, that is true isn't it? How long has it been since we last saw each other?" Ray mocked Cordran's laughter and replied, "Not long enough by my book. Mind telling me what you're doing here? Last I checked you quite working for the Destroyers after I kicked your ass back into the gamma dimensions." Cordran got uncharacteristicly serious, "I'm here, my dear Ray, to give you the opportunity to be on the winning team of the interdimensional struggle. The Guardians and the Destroyers are slowly dieing without the Swords of Light and Darkness. Which, if I'm not mistaken, you and your lacky Shane have." Ray smirked, "I like the sound of 'Lacky Shane' but, that's just not true. I haven't seen those bloody damned weapons since I fought Mewtwo. And what do you mean, 'winning team?" Cordran smiled, "I was hoping you'd ask that." He activated the holoprojector on his wrist computer and showed Ray a frightening image. "This is Zengaudimus, the ultimate warrior. I had a hard time admitting it, but, he is far stronger than the two of us. We are gods, he, is greater than that." Ray looked at the picture of Zengaudimus, his eyes were glowing orbs on his face, his hair was firey energy, he didn't look physically strong, but, he had an aura to him. Ray looked at Cordran and knew that if he was working for someone, that person would have to be as strong as Saraphim. "By your use of the line, 'we are gods,' I take it when I became Warrior of the Cross, you gained a similar state. But, if he is stronger than us, what is he, an angel?" Cordran laughed again, "No, brother, you will just have to find out for yourself." Shane felt a familiar presence nearby. "It seems Ray found Cordran, or vice-versa, and now you've found me." Turning, Shane saw what looked like a fat politician. "Brin, what the hell are you doing here?" Brin laughed his high pichted laugh, "I am the leader of the Guardians without you or Doss around, this dimension needs a representative of the Guardian Force in it's christening event." Shane nodded, it made sense, though why anyone would find Brin anything close to a Guardian was beyond him, "Okay, but why don't you have 300 armed guards around you to take me in?" Brin laughed again, causing Shane to cringe with more than a little pain, "Becuase I am not talking to you as a representative of the Guardians. I found that I wasn't making enough money being a politcian alone, so, I went out on other ventures. That and it seems without you or Doss, the Guardian Force is quickly dieing, I needed a more stable job, one with the team that will come out on top. Though I tried to talk my employer out of it, he wanted me to try to recruit you as well." Shane rolled his eyes, to Brin it had always been about the Benjamins. "I wish Mac was here," he thought, "at least Mac has the patience to deal with this freak. Then again, even Mac has his limits." Shane drew a blaster and aimed it at Brin's head. "You've got 30 seconds to get out of my sight, and drop all of the chocolate you have on your body, or I'll add some more ventalation for all that hot air you have." Brin held out a communicator, "hehe, try it. If I hit this button, all the guardians in this dimension will be on you like a bad cold." However, when Brin looked down at the com, it wasn't in his hand. Shane looked around innocently and whistled, then held out a melted com unit and laughed. "PSYCHE! OH, I GOT YOU GOOD! AHAHAHAH! I can move faster than light for short distances, you happen to be in that distance." Frag got up from his seat and walked out to the arena, it was his turn to fight. He hadn't even bothered seeing who his first opponent was, he knew it couldn't be Kagato, and no one else fighting was going to stand a chance against him. His opponent was alread in the ring, and Frag noticed from the get-go that he had no feet, or no body as he continued to look up the figure of his opponent. "OH COME ON, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Kagato condescendingly smiled down at Frag, "So, Prince of Jurai, are you ready to make your decision? Your choices are join us, or die. And don't worry about your friends, they are being asked the same questions all over this arena." The announcer didn't seem to hear this, and named the fighters. Neither moved to begin with, they just stared each other down, knowing already the power the other had. Kagato knew he was stronger in the long-run, unless Frag risked using the Ultimate Force, that would prove a problem. Frag nodded to Kagato, "I have made my decision, Choice 'C:' TAKE YOU OUT ASSHOLE!" Mac sensed the others begining to power up, so he knew something was going down. He turned on the others' communicators remotely and listened in as each was offered a job with this "Zendgaudimus" by some manner. Kagato, Cordran, and Brin; each one offered a fairly good challenge for their counterparts, but, Brin was his current worry. "If what Brin said was true about him being head Guardian, if the Guardians detect Shane fighting him, Shane could very easily have a few battalions after him." Mac turned and flew back to where he had left Shane last. Brin looked up and saw Mac comming. "Welcome, former Cheif Scientist, I was hoping you would show up too. Since you won't join us willingly, I have been given orders to destroy the both of you." Brin reached behind him and pulled out two capsules, "Come forth, Dual Clay Megaton!" When the capsules hit the ground, two giant fisted robots emerged and took battle stances." Shane looked over at Mac, "Do you think that megaton refers to their hitting power?" Shaking his head, Mac answered, "No, it refers to their pinky-thumping ability." Turning to Ray, Cordran gave him an ultimatum, "Join us, or die." Ray looked at his brother, "How about I just say, bring it on!" In unison, they powered up and screamed, "I AM THE CHOSEN ONE!"
