Knights of DayBreak Chapter 13 By: W.Bob Yankovic If the last fic left you wondering what was going to happen you might get a few answers in this one. But be prepaired for some interesting events. There are only two more after this one so someone is going to have to start dieing off, but who will die? Gonna have to read to find out. "Yes, how stupid do you feel now human?" Vyraxon cackled out amidst laughs. I was in shock. How could this happen? Why would Shandra sell us out to Vyraxon? There was no obvious reason for her actions. I stood back up and tried to stammer out a few words, but nothing came out in words. "You want to know how? I will tell you. You see, my dimension ties into every other. You might say that it feeds every other dimension. It is the source of all evil that exists. Shandra here was weak enough for me to coerce with the Dark Side. After that she quickly spilled out the whole plan. You might be wondering why you didn't feel any of this going on. Well as you might remember you yourself have been tempted several times by the Dark Side. I simply blocked you out from my dealings. I do say that you were less of an obstacle than I expected," Vyraxon said as he began to laugh again. "That just isn't possible. It doesn't make sense. How can one dimension be that powerful?" Irvine asked. I didn't want to give my answer because I feared that it would be true. Vyraxon insted confirmed my worst fears. "What you call the Omega Dimension is in fact what Earth Alpha calls Hell. As you may guess that makes us Fallen, demons. And we are that powerful because every villan and enemy that you have killed has ended up in Hell with us. We simply steal their power and use it for our own good. Let me show you an example," he said. He charged up a huge blast and flew up into the air. "DESTRUCTION RAINS FROM ABOVE!" he screamed as huge blasts flew down at us. We were taken by surprise and everyone was thrown back away from the impact crater made by the blast. "No way! Only the Sword of Darkness can do that!" Mac screamed. I myself didn't believe my eyes. If what he was saying was true he had access to every move of anyone that was in Hell. If this was true then we were screwed. "Yes but the Sword of Darkness was used by Lucifer himself to comabat Micheal and Heaven's angels. So therefore I have the ability to summon it's power," Vyraxon said. "Alright enough small talk," I said as I threw my right hand out to my side. The rings on my hands began to glow and soon a sword formed in my hand. "You play your games, I'll play mine. Taste the Sword of Light," I said as I flew toward him. I raised the Sword up above my head and brought it down with a force that could have split the planet below me. The split second before my blade reached the demi-crown of horns on Vyraxon's head he had his bone blades out and stopped my swing. I threw more energy into the swing and lowered myself to the ground. He noticed that I had increased my energy so he doubled his. Under us the ground began to depress as we struggled to get the upper hand. "You cannot defeat me, I have more power than anyone in existance," he said to me as he unleashed more of his power. Mac and everyone else was thrown back by the increase, and I was almost brought to my knees. "Yeah but I have God on my side," I cried as I poured all of my power into my Sword. The blade began to glow a brilliant white and the ground beneath Vyraxon began to pile up behind his heels. I was pushing him down, slowly. The next thing I knew Vyraxon had opened a portal under him. He fell through it and closed it before my blade could taste his flesh. The power stored up in my blade was released and as the blade hit the ground a huge valley was thrown up on both sides of me. I turned around and flew up to get a better vantage of the battle field. I was hit by a fist right inbetween my shoulder blades and went sprawling back to the ground. From up above me I heard Vyraxon laughing. He seemed to do that a lot. "Stupid, stupid, stupid. You don't believe me. I have all the power. I am supreme. Your God doesn't care about you. He just sits up there and tosses down judgement and wrath. The only joy that you humans ever experiance is through your own selves. We have decieved you from the beginning and we decieve you now. Who would have thought that all we had to do was let that stupid fool Adam see his wife naked to destroy generation after generation. You stupid humans will kill just to get yourself five minutes of pleasure. You think that God is really in control? You think that He gives you strength? You think that He listens when you pray? You are nothing more than an spot on a marble in the middle of never ending darkness to him. I have always known that the human race was stupid. I was against it from the start. That is why I followed Lucifer. He knew what was going on with God and his little schemes. He was more of a genious than anything that God has created since. He was supposed to be where that weakling Micheal is now," Vyraxon said as he lowered himself to the ground. "So what exactly does that make you?" Draco said quite unimpressed by the speach. "I think that makes you a traitor and a fool to turn your back on God who, last time I checked, created you. How can you claim to be more powerful than the one that made you? You are the one that is stupid," he added. "Well, Well, the young one is fiesty. And vain. Your power is supplied by your rage. You mean nothing, you don't deserve to ask me a question. But never the less I will answer. For thousands of years I was Lucifer's right hand man, much like Micheal is for God. I lead his armies, I weilded the Sword of Darkness, I killed thousands of angels, I stole the souls of countless others leaving them with no choice but to join us, but I tierd of that game. When Lucifer chose Cordran to be his champion and drained his power to ressurect him I saw my window of opportunity. He should have chosen me to go kill that Doss fellow, I would have not failed the first time. So, I destroyed Lucifer and took the title of Satan for my own. You may think of me as the new devil. And where Lucifer failed, I will succeed. I will destroy God's favorite creation, man. You are just simple pawns in a supernatural chess game. And I am fixing to put God in checkmate!" He said as he opened a huge portal under us. When I saw what was on the other side of the portal I rubbed my eyes to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. All around me there were flames and smoke. We stood in a huge ampitheater amidst a sea of horrendous tortured souls that screamed and jeered at us, millions upon millions of them. The heat was unbearable, and the air stung my eyes when I tried to look around. Vyraxon gave a little bow and said, "Welcome to Hell, I hope you have a nice stay." ------------------------- Raven kept directing traffic among the huge capital fleet of the Knights. The Dark Flame Fleet had for all purposes trapped them. "How are those tankers coming? Why aren't those ships falling back? Where the hell are all of our fighters?" he screamed out over the comm. His answers came back in mixed messages of terror and surprise. The water tankers designed to take step one against the Sheols were not manned or prepped for flight even though they were supposed to stay on highest alert. "I'll have someone's head for that!" Raven screamed. The fighters blasted out of the hangers and just a few seconds later came the tankers. Across the twenty or so click gap between the two fleets Raven noticed the Serpent Fighters pouring from out of the Sheols and the Lucifer. Luckily there were no signs of the Lucifer's mega cannon being charged or prepped to fire. The Serpent that had been rigged was being kept in a cargo transport that was to flight into the fray and make it's way back to the Lucifer just in case they got a little trigger happy. "Raven, all fighter groups and tankers have now been deployed and a defense perimeter has been set up to allow all of the reinforcement ships to escape and help out with the assault on the planets," Qui Xux said from behind him. He nodded in agreement and shifted his attention back out toward the Dark Flame Fleet. On the hull of Hogo, all of the weapons arrays began to move along their tracks to the center of the ship to form the Core Cannon. Raven hoped that it wouldn't come to firing it, but if it did it was best to be able to go at a moment's notice. "How goes the planetary assault?" he asked with a sigh. For the first few minutes it was going ahead of schedule, but it seemed that some planets had been armed with defense systems. The forces sent by the Knights were devestated when they came in contact with these. Now it was almost an unsalvageable operation. It was pretty much all up to the Supreme Gaurdains taking out Vyraxon. "About half and half. We have sent out warnings to all of the ships notifing them of the defense systems, but that the plan is still going on. It is as if we are commanding them to die. I feel low, almost inhuman. How could this happen, the plan was foolproof," Qui reported. Inside, Raven felt the same way. This was a travisty of human life. There was no need to continue this. It was pointless. Why waste a human being to gain nothing. It was time to make a decision. "Call off the planetary attack. Bring them back here. If they are going to die I want to die by their side. Ask all of the planets that we have freed to send any space capable ships with them. We are going to take out this d@mn fleet one way or the other. Tell the defense line to open fire on the Dark Flame Fleet. All fighters go for the interdictor first, then go for the Sheols. Tankers dump your cargo then get clear. Try to pick up any floaters on the way. This is it people, all or nothing," Raven said in a low voice. He stood and began to walk out toward the hangar. "Where are you going?" Qui asked him. He stopped, but didn't turn around to face her. A tear fell from his eye as he replied, "I'm going to be with my men." -------------------------- "You are a liar. And you will die now!" I screamed as I drew the Sword of Light again. "Everyone at once, just like last time," I directed. He just circled us and laughed. Before he could blink I was on him slashing and thrusting as fast as I could. Sarhedrin and Cratin flew around behind him and began to chuck some serious Ki attacks at his back. Mac and Draco dove in along side me punching and kicking. Irvine was beside Shandra capping off anyone or anything that tried to get at her. She just lay in a little pile on the dirt whimpering like a dog. We continued to pound on Vyraxon for a good five minutes until he decided that he had enough. He grabbed me by the leg with his tail and flung me across the floor area into the wall on the edge of the ring. He did likewise with Mac and Draco, then turned and fired two blasts from his eyes that fried Sarhedrin and Cratin. "My minions, I have brought us a sacrifice. Take them if you can!" Vyraxon screamed at the top of his lungs. From out of the ampitheater poured the millions of onlookers. They flooded over us like a dark wave of evil. I didn't have time to fight any of them off. They just piled on and began to rip at my skin. And they weren't just you average garden variety demons, these guys were strong. Everything went black as one of them hit me in the back of the head. I fell to my knees and they surrounded me and began to beat the crap out of me. I could tell that everyone else was in the same situation, I could hear Irvine blasting as fast as he could, Cratin screaming, and Sarhedrin cursing. Unbeknownst to me Vyraxon had made his way over to Mac and joined in the pummeling. So he was getting an extra share. I could feel everyone's energy level dropping. Could this be it? Finished off by a hord of demons in the epicenter of Hell itself. It didn't sound good to me, but there wasn't much that I could do about it. I began to fire randomly hoping to make a dent in them. I wasn't going out quietly. But it seemed that Mac wasn't either. From the depths of the pile I felt Mac's power growing. What was he doing? Was he going to blow himself up to try to save us? I caught a slight cry come out from his general area. Then it grew. Soon his voice filled the whole arena and shook the walls. Then from out of the pile of demon flesh burst Mac, or should I say Super Human Lvl 2 Mac. He flew straight up in the air and began to scream at Vyraxon. "You have no right to take us! We are God's children! YOU HAVE NO POWER COMPAIRED TO HIM! AND I WILL SHOW YOU! MURUBATSU!" he screamed. Out from his hands lept a huge blast that aimed itself at the outer ring of the attacking demons. They started dissentigrating like dust as soon as the blast hit them. Some tried to run but even the residual energy left after his blast had hit the ground fried them. The Fallen beating on me stopped just long enough to look up to see what was going on. This gave me the split second I needed to get out from under them and fly up directly under Mac. Mac began to rotate his murubastu attack around the edges, pouring more power into it every time that he made a complete revolution. The Fallen were dropping like flies. I had to get the rest of my crew out before Mac's blast fried them too. Then a great idea came to my mind. "EVERYONE THAT IS ON GOD's SIDE CLOSE YOUR EYES!" I screamed out. Seconds later I powered up an attack that Goku himself had tought me. "SOLAR FLARE!" I screamed out as I emmited a blinding light. The Fallen shrunk back covering their eyes giving the rest of the Gaurdians a chance to escape. Super Human lvl 2 Mac kept pouring out the power and soon it the crowd of millions had shrunk down to just a handfull. Mac reached the ground and faced them, then to finish his move he let out a blast that blew out straight toward the remaining Fallen and Vyraxon. They tried to block it, but Mac was too strong. I sheilded my eyes as I checked on everyone to see if they were ok. Mac let out one final scream and his beam quadrupled in size. Then he lowered his hands and stared at the huge gully that he had made. "Don't mess with God's chosen," he said in a sneer. Then from the canyon came the voice of Vyraxon. It was somehow deeper and darker than any other time that I could remember. "God? You want to know who God is? He is a puppet master. You are his puppet. His angels were too dear to him to lose so he sent you with a promise to help you. God doesn't care. He just sits back and laughs at you as you DIE! His lack of motivation is disgusting. He claims to give everyone the ability to decide for himself, but that is just a falicy. He wants you to believe that so you will praise Him. All he wants is for someone to tell Him how great that He is. He created human kind to be his eternal yes men. If you join me now we can rid existance of his influence. But if you refuse I am afraid that I will have to show you my full power. Choose now mortals," He said as he slowly raised himself from the wake of Mac's attack. "I CHOOSE GOD!" Mac screamed as he launched himself at Vyraxon. It was uncanny, almost immediatly Mac had him reeling. He gave him a kick to the mid section then and upper cut. As Vyraxon's helpless body flew in the air Mac phased in behind him and gave him a double axe handle to the back of the neck then flew below him and uppercutted him again. I began to cheer for him. He was winning. He grabbed Vyraxon by the tail and began to crack his body like a whip. Then he flew up in the air and threw him down at the ground. The crater that his body made hid him from view, but not Mac's. "You blaspheme God, you curse Him, and you lie! You claim that he is evil! NOW...YOU...DIE!" He screamed as he powered up a blast. His hands began to glow white hot. Then he flung his hands straight down and screamed "PILLAR OF LIGHT!" A huge blast of the purest white energy sped down at Vyraxon's broken body. The blast was easily thirty yards across, and it looked like it could take out a planet with no trouble. As Mac cut off his beam I saw him revert back to regular human and fly our way. "Vyraxon is no more," he said. I slapped him on the back which knocked him over. "Easy man that took a lot out of me," he complained. I wondered why no one else was rejoicing until I noticed the crumpled figure of Shandra laying on the ground and everyone huddled around her. I rushed over to find her clinging to life, barely. "Hey you aren't going anywhere," I said as I leaned over her and took her hand. "I'm still not through teaching you." She half opened her eyes and looked at me. "I..I'm...so..rry" she said slowly. I shook my head and put a finger to her lips. I felt sorry for her. I could imagine the turmoil that was going on inside her. "Don't talk, it's alright. Let's get you out of here," I said as I opened a portal behind her. I slowly levitated her off of the ground using the Force and began to move her through it. Right before she entered it, the portal shut. I turned slowly and looked over my shoulder. It wasn't a pretty sight. Vyraxon stood there dripping with his thick black blood. He was missing his tail and all of his right arm along with the right half of his head. "You...leave......when...I....say....so," he rasped out through half of a mouth. ------------------------ "What do you mean? Surely you aren't planning to go out there?" Qui asked Raven. He didn't give an answer. He just walked out the door. She got up and took a few steps his way before the ship began to shake under her feet. "What was that?" she asked the first officer. "Ma'am it seems that we are under direct attack by a whole deployment of Serpent fighters carrying some kind of warhead that is nearly impossible to see or track on radar. We are trying our best to get rid of them, but all of the fighters have been assigned to attack the Interdictor. Wait there are three fighters flying out of the hangar. They won't identify. 'H-wing fighters identify yourselves,' the deck officer said holding his hand to his ear to hear better. "Don't mind me, I'm here to exterminate some snakes," Raven said over the headset. The officer looked to Qui and told her who it was. "There are three ships. Who is flying the other two?" she asked as she took her seat again. "Raven who is with you," she said over her headset. She heard a laugh followed by a transmittion of fight data. "I am. Ever heard of remote control?" he said. Qui tried to ask him what he hoped to do, but he shut off his comm. She banged her fist on the panel and cursed. "He is going to get himself killed," she said under her breath. Just then the ship rocked again as the Serpent fighters made their second pass. "Why aren't we shooting back? Someone give me a damage report!" Qui said. "Sheilds 40%, no structural or hull damage, but we can't take many more of those," someone said from the lower deck. "I don't know what you people are doing, but that really hurts!" Hogo said over the intercoms. Qui jumped, forgetting that Hogo was a living Jurain ship. She gave him permission to fire at any of the Serpents that he could get in his sights, but not to use too much power in case they needed to use the Core Cannon. Then from the forward view port Qui saw an explosion. Then another. Then three H-Wing fighters flew by, guns blazing. Raven was taking on two full wings of Serpents by himself, and winning. Then from farther off a larger explosion could be seen. "Ma'am the interdictor is no more. The tankers have made their dumps and the fighters are making attack runs on the Sheols. Should we call them back or proceed with the attack?" he said. That is when Qui noticed that she was now in control with Raven running around in space. "Um, keep going. If the losses get too serious call them back. Maybe this will turn out half way right," she said in a shaky voice. She watched as Raven took out Serpent after Serpent out in front of Hogo. She never knew that he was such an experianced fighter pilot. Soon the threat on Hogo was over and she saw him flying out towards the battle that raged around the Sheols. The ships had very few structural weaknesses and were armed to the teeth with all kinds of goodies. Every pilot had been subjected to endless hours in the simulator to prepair for the threats of the Dark Flame Fleet, and they had been well spent. With the hull integrity weakened greatly by the water dump, the fighters had a much easier job. The plan was to fly by and dump around twenty resonance torpedoes into the weakened area. Ten torpedoes would be enough to cause a planet to break up if they all hit at the same point at the same time. Hopefully that would be enough to take out a Sheol or two before the threat became to great to stick around. "Reporting loss of Beta, Tau, and Epsilon flights; tankers four through ten; five Corellian class freighters; and a Lambda class modified attack shuttle," the deck officer reported. Qui let out a sigh, "sixty four fighters per flight, times three, ten people per tanker, times six, no telling how many on the freighters, and five on the shuttle. God help us all." "Ma'am, bad news. The Lucifer is turning its bearing towards us, and charging up its cannon. What should we do?" the deck officer said in a stone cold voice. "Pray, pray hard, and charge the Core Cannon," Qui said as she dropped to her knees behind her command station. --------------------- "H..How?" Cratin said as he stared at the battered walking corpse that was Vyraxon. "No one could have survived that, not even Shane or Mac. It's just not possible," he said. Vyraxon used his one arm to wipe the blood out of his one good eye and began to walk toward us. "You..just..don't..get..it. I..am..all..powerful. And..I..will..prove..it," he said as he began to flap his tattered leathery wings. Before I knew what was going on he was in the middle of us dealing us a whoopin that I couldn't compare to anything else. It was like he was faster than light. He only had one arm, but he was punching all of us faster than we could block. He flew straight up in the air, charged up a blast, and shot it straight down at us. We were hit and driven down into the ground. I stood up holding my now broken ribs and looked around for everyone. I saw six other holes in the ground, but no Vyraxon. From behind me I heard a whirring sound and I spun around just in time to duck under His bone blades, which were now circling his wrist like a big drill bit. I drew the Sword of Light and dove at him. He sidestepped and brought his blade down on my back, but I righted myself and blocked just in time. He swung again and I backflipped out of the way and swiped down at his knees. He leaped over my swing and on the way down tried to split my skull, much like I did to him before. I rolled under him and started an upstroke that would split him right down the middle. He teleported out from infront of me and reappeared at my side lunging with hopes to impale me. I spun out and brought my sword hilt down on his back. This sent him to the ground. I quickly turned my blade around to stab him through, but he teleported again. I turned around to find him but all I found was a ki blast in my face. I fell to my knees and tried vainly to regain my sight. I heard him walking over to me, dragging his right leg. Mac had done a number on this guy, but he was still kicking back pretty hard. "I will now kill you. You are lucky, I will not torture you for long. I had hopes that you would join me and together take out God. He would have frailed in then power of the both of us. We could have ruled the whole universe. Now I have to kill you. It is a shame though, I almost had a shred of respect for you," Vyraxon said. I heard his bone blades beginning to spin again. I rubbed my eyes for all that I was worth. I jumped to my feet and held one hand out in front of me waving it back and forth to get some idea where he was. That is when I heard it, the whirring coming at me rapidly. I dropped tomy knees and said, "I'm your's Lord," expecting it all to be over in a matter of seconds. I felt his blade pass in front of my face, he was testing me. The next time I heard it come close he screamed "Goodbye McInnis!" Right before I expected it to hit me I heard a very sickening sound along with a slight cry of pain. Finally my sight came back to me and I saw what had happened. There before me was the crumpled form of Shandra impaled on the still spinning bone blades of Vyraxon. I looked down to my shirt to see that it was covered with her blood. She had sacrificed her life to save me. I guess that it was her way of proving that she was sorry. A tear fell from my eye as I looked to Vyraxon and found him quite pleased with the outcome. "I was planning on killing her anyway. I guess that it was better this way, quick, relativly painful, but not enough blood," he said as he shook her body off of his arm. He took his blades and cleanly cut the head off of her body and stabbed it in the back. He held it up for me to look at. Then he did something that he shouldn't have. With some gruesome power he manipulated her lips to say "Vyraxon is God, give in to him." "You are one sick bastard," I said as I stood. The rage and hate began to build up in me. I began to feel the Dark Side flow through me. With a flash of smoke I changed over from MegaFighter to DarkFighter. Vyraxon began to laugh at me and held his hand over Shandra's body. In the blink of an eye he vaporized it. In the pile of ash I saw only her ring to show that she was even alive. "Aww, did I kill her?" he said in a sadistic voice. That pushed me over the edge. I drew all of the power that I could into my body. I floated up off of the ground and let out an earth shaking scream. "I WILL KILL YOU!" I screamed as I felt a not so familiar power begining to take over my body. I shook and curled up into a ball in the air. Then I threw my legs and arms out as a huge black flame engulfed my body. As I landed I noticed that I was larger. And judging by Vyraxon's half of a face I knew that I had reached my second level evolution, Hell Blitzkreig.
