The Physics of DGF/Pioneer --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dimensional theory The universe consists of matter and energy in three dimensions. It in it's all important Fourth dimension exists in Time and space. The time space fabric is the most important of all physical dimensions. It is a very material fabric which maintains the basic laws of physics. All other dimensions such as height, width, cosmic string, hyperspace and so on are layers on top of the timespace dimension. The timespace dimension exists in a sort of ether called the vortex. Vortex location defies things such as position and and even basic numerics. For this reason it takes very advanced technology to work on the vortex level. In the vortex multiple realities are possible. One basic universe started at the beginning of time. That reality continued to branch out into multiple realities. The result being that the number of realities existing constantly increses. While these realities share one space time grid and do exist ion one place at one time they carry different vortex coordinants so they do not interact with one another directly. The starting universe is generally known as point zero or it's more common name Earth Alpha. All dimensions are linked to it. Dimensions closest to Point Zero are called Alpha dimensions. A strange phenomenon of Alpha dimensions is that Fiction of Earth Alpha shows striking simmillarities to close by alpha dimensions. Subdimensions that move off to only a minor extent from alpha dimensions are known as alpha point dimensions. These dimensions are in fact so close to their originals that they can influence and at times even merge with alpha dimensions. Once dimensions diverge completely from an alpha dimension they are known as Beta dimensions. Beta dimensions have diverged so completely from point zero that they share very little in common with it's history. Delta are to beta dimensions as beta dimensions are to Alpha dimensions. Delta dimensions are the last level of dimensions with stable physics. Gamma dimensions do not have a stable space time fabric and as such do not form matter and other basics for inhabitation. No matter how far they branch off all dimensions of this type are known as gamma dimensions. There is little need to classify them due to lack of stable physics. Akin to the alpha points, beta and delta dimensions also have point type dimensions. The point descriptor is also used to describe the level of variance away from point zero in Gamma dimensions in order to describe the level of instabillity. The vortex is not only the ether in which realities exist but can also be tapped in order for humans to travel between dimensions. In the center of the vortex time does not pass. However the concept of time exists in imaginary time. Such as a human could look at his watch and while he would observe the passage of time after years he would not have aged. As one enters realities however time does pass at varying rates depending on the time rates in their homeworlds. Time moves at varying speed in all places other than the vortex center. Currently there is a base established at this point for the Dimensional Guardian Force known as the Nexus Central Command. Most dimensional travel involves traveling to the NCC and then locating the point to which they want to travel and reaching it from the central point. It is possible to calculate a dimensional Jump with the use of a jump calculator that will bypass the use of the NCC. However due to the danger of unregulated dimensional travel these devices are only allowed to the DGF and any dimension which can develope it on its own. An incorrectly calculated jump will result in the traveller landing in the point of least resistance which is the NCC. However the Vortex is dangerious for poeple to travel through. Before being permitted to travel through dimensions a person is measured for vortex resistance. Vortex resistance is a measure primarilly of one's abillty to survive a vortex jump. A vortex resistance of over 60% is required for a jumping license. If someone's vortex resistance is too low they will be given the option of vortex therapy in order to increse resistance. This however is time consuming and for most people unnecessary. Most people including those with high vortex resistance choose to travel via sheilded vehicle in which the difficulties of vortex resistance are negated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Political Theory The DGF controlls the NCC and with it controlls all travel. The DGF is split between two factions. The Political faction which controlls finance and regulates travel. And the Milltiary faction which was developed in order ot combat those who would abuse the methods of dimensional travel. There is a peculliar ballance of power between the polliticians and millitary factions of the DGF. Both seeking to cease total controll but niether able to sustain its self without the other. The arch rivals of the DGF are the Destroyers. Little is known about them. They dissapear and resurface throughout history and are capable mass destruction. In the world of dimensional travel you are either a millitary a civillian, or an outlaw. While Civillians use the Vortex for peacefull means such as interdimensional trade and spreading their culture, Millitary uses it to fight their wars. The Guardians to deffend the Civillians and the destroyers to oppress them. The outlaws are those who abide by niether. Some outlaws work as mercenaries while others become pirates and still others have no desire to break the law but are destined to ignore it. Outlaws have no love of the DGF or the destroyers. They spit at authority and travel their own path. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Battle Theory The history of the Vortex travel is a history of war. Many fighters, some outlaw, some Soldiers have different methods of fighting. While common weapons such as guns are available the truly high scale battles use powers far superior. There are three basic types of fighting. Inherent power, Vortex power, and Inner power. Inherent powers are powers exlusive to a certain dimensions such as the force, Jurai power, and so on. These powers are indeed strong and can be amplified when a trans dimensional fighter combines them. However these inherent powers tend to be a mixed bag that not everyone can use. Those with high vortex resistance can summon up Vortex power through the use of sacred relics. By accessing the vortex any human possessing a sacred relic can summon any inherent power for temporary use. While they don't have any long term bennifits from these powers they can take advantage of their offensive abillities. Furthermore a truly tallented person can summon up raw vortex energy to use vortex power in its true form. This is highly dangerous for the user though as large amounts of unfiltered Vortex power can do signifficant damage to the body even when one has high vortex resistance. Finally there is Inner power. Long standing it has been the choice of the greatest outlaws in history. Inner power is three fold in its function. It consists of energy which is summoned from Chi the eternal life force, the body through which energy must be channelled, and the spirit which must be in tune to controll the energy. A warrior can summon fourth large amounts of energy when his spirit is properly matured. This energy once passed through the body allows it to become much stronger than the material of which it is made. An even stronger warrior can use energy its self to attack by channelling it into concentrated blasts. The Inner power has been considered to rival even vortex power however unlike vortex power an immature person is incapable of controlling it. When body mind and energy increse to a certain point it is possible to undergo a transformation which will allow a person to surpass all limits of their body and channel far greater ammounts of energy at one time. This is called the super human. However the superhuman transformation takes a very strong spirit as it relies on a proper focusing of emotions. It is said however that not even superhuman power is the ultimate perfection of inner power and that another transformation is needed to reach one's true potential. It is believed by some that all powers emenate from a single source which they reffer to as holy power. This remains unseen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ character theory Among the most famed people in the universe there are four who stand out in each category. Among the soldiers is the Chosen one Ray Doss. Most of his past is an open book. He began his career as an average recruit who quickly rose to the top of his class. In an early mission however he discovered that he was the chosen one of goodness. As such most of his adult life has been spent upholding justice and protecting against evil. After two wars He settled down and became a teacher for awhile. In a third war he returned to action and put a permanent end to the guardian destroyer wars by claiming the sword of darkness and as such naming himself supreme destroyer. Later in Life Ray dissapeared with only rumors of him appearing to collect bounties on the universe's most wanted giving hints as to his wherabouts. Observations of Ray's habits show that he is very much a morning person preffering to start the day at sunrise and enjoy a big breakfast with a strong coffee. Ray has grown accustomed to a wealthy lifestyle due to his large pay. While officially a soldier Guardian Shane McInnis has spent much time in the politician's arena. Shane started in the same class as Ray Doss however parted ways after becoming a deputy guardian in order to participate in covert missions. Much like Ray Shane has participated in a number of wars however has little desire for retirement and remains in active duty as supream guardian. Even more so than Ray Shane enjoys a good pay and the lifestyle that accompanies it. A lifetime of millitary schedule has put Shane on a low sleep lifestyle. Observers of Shane's habits would say he has less than a 100% firm grasp on reality. For a good time among the civillianc class there remained a wildcard known only as Mac. He has performed some light tasks for the Guardians before dissapearing completely only to re-emerge in the war of the whole to reveal his true power. After an amazing display of abillity in areas of power and wit Mac was accepted as a Guardian. Little is known about the mysterious Mac's origins. Observations of him show that he enjoys a later sleep but is used to a more spartan lifestyle. Not much can phase a man as rational as Mac. Finally among the outlaws is a man known by many names but to most is called Fragraham (shoot anything that moves) Lincon. Starting his career as a space pirate and later mercenary and finally all purpose outlaw Frag has been both a life saver and a constant annoyance to the DGF. Frag spits in the face of authority and has been linked to massive battles all over the universe. However all of reality owes it's existance to him a few times over. Early On Frag was seen as nothing more than a crimminal by the DGF and later was a threat to be elliminated. After smoothing things over Frag came under the temporary employ of the DGF before gathering the other Three greats to a battle to determine the fate of the universe. After this event Frag was finally allowed access to the NCC but chose to dissapear rather than take advantage of it. The last record of Frag activity from the DGF is a teenage boy who looked a bit like him attemtping to break into the vault. Observers would say that Frag is an intense man who rages at life with all he has. This is shown in his sleeping habbits. Generally staying up for 48 hour periods and collapsing when completely exhausted. Frag usually sleeps for 12 hours aftarwards and makes a sluggish entry into the day with a strong coffee and a hearty breakfast. These four people are a strong influence on the political climate of the Omniverse. Their future actions will make a difference for everyone.
